But of course if you’re just playing around, $100 for a pencil may be unrealistic. You can draw using the tip or the side of the pencil and it also detects pressure. Nothing can compare to it! I know they’re pricey but you really get a feel for drawing with it. But if you really want to get a used one bc you’re just messing around with it, I’d go with the used iPad Air bc the size is more convenient and easier to carry.Īnd I’m serious about the Apple Pencil. I also have an iPad Pro and a iPad Air and the regular iPad and I use procreate on all of them with either my first Gen Apple Pencil or the 2nd Gen (obviously each iPad uses a different one), and besides the sizes, I really can’t tell the difference between any of them.

I believe it’s just an “iPad”, it wasn’t the air or mini and it connects to the Apple Pencil. I have 5 iPads right now and one of them I got from Best Buy NEW for $300 and something. Also, are you sure there aren’t any new iPads for $300? I really wouldn’t get a used one unless you can see it in person. I’m not familiar with the mini but if it can connect to an Apple Pencil, it should be fine. Honestly as long as the iPad can connect to an Apple Pencil and you get an Apple Pencil, any of these iPads would work great.
